10.10.20 Enhanced Trip pages coming soon

With the transition to a new web platform came a learning curve for us. We initially thought that it would take us some time to figure out the new system. Fortunately for us, we were wrong. We flew right through that learning curve as if we already knew it.

The new Trip pages are coming along nicely and are just about ready to be shared with all of you. We still have some testing to do, so we aren\’t going to make any promises quite yet. With that being said… we just had to give you a sneak peek.

The new trip pages will provide a ton of information and features:

  • Location background
  • Trip summary
  • Your options
  • Trip Inquiry button
  • Booking FAQs
  • Trip FAQs
  • Regional Google map
  • Latest trip related news

10.09.20 Introducing a new way to Fish Village

We have been hustling behind the scenes to bring you a content first website with fresh posts and updates to keep you all in the loop. Updates about our company, trips, events and more. Editorials, trip reviews, insights, behind the scenes by the Fish Village team. How-to articles and videos by the Fish Village fishing team, friends and partners.

Sure we change website platforms like people change underwear… however with each iteration we get better as we provide a more meaningful experience and we simplify our ability to keep it up to date. This is important because if it is hard to keep it up to date… then we will struggle to keep up.

Since we have so much to do, so much to say and so little time… we had to break up this project into three phases:

PhaseDeliverableETA
Phase 1Launch new website10/8
Phase 2Launch updated trips experienceEarly Nov 2020
Phase 3Launch online storeEarly – mid Dec 2020

Good news is, everyone can still go to www.fishvillage.com to keep up with Fish Village. Though we have an upgraded website platform with a bunch of new content, we still have some work to do to get the trips experience up and running again. We expect that to take up to 2-3 weeks.

We thank you for your patience during this transitional period.

10.08.20 S. Florida Spring 3 Day Trip (Coming Soon)

2020 is a bust by most people\’s standards so we wanted to create a reason for people to look forward, plan a little bit and get out there and fish. Brian Nelli of Pushin\’ Water Kayak Charters answered the call and helped us put together a special spring trip in beautiful south Florida.

The package includes three (3) days of fishing with a shot at offshore, inshore and freshwater all on the same trip. Weather can play a factor for the offshore scene, however the inshore and freshwater fishing options are practically endless. This package also assumes lodging, lunch while fishing and transportation to and from the fishing zone.

This will be a ultra limited group with only three (3) spots available. We expect to announce the date and price within the next two (2) weeks.

If you want to roll and have a small group in mind, let us know. If we sell out immediately, we WILL offer more trips. If you want your own date, contact us and we will work it out.

10.07.20 B.T.T. Louisiana Trip Planning Pt. 1

This segment is a three (3) part series containing behind the scenes (B.T.S.) information regarding the planning that is going into our Louisiana adventure.

We are getting a lot of questions about what we plan on doing while visiting Louisiana. Are you going to New Orleans, are you fishing the Mississippi River, are you only fishing for redfish and the list goes on and on.

In short, we have worked out just about every detail we can consider ahead of this trip. This means that our focus on this trip is to simply live the experience for ourselves and capture amazing content so that we can tell our story. This is crucial to our process. Most of our customers tell us… we watched you guys on Field Trips w/ Robert Field on YouTube. This is all the motivation we need to keep making great Field Trips content.

We have a lot of California guys coming on this trip to help us connect with the West coast audience. We want to inspire our left coast anglers to get out on the road or to jump on a plane and live the same experience we did.

Fishing Agenda

  • At least three (3) days of fishing with the core team.
  • Up to two (2) additional fishing days with various folks.
  • Primarily inshore fishing for redfish, black drum, sheephead, speckled trout and flounder.

Keep Up With Us

Follow along with Fish Village as we head to Louisiana for a week of marsh fishing with 15 of our closest friends. Joe and Mike will be heading to Houston first for a visit with some friends. We will be posting updates, videos and pics along the way.

10.06.20 Pull up a chair and check out Field Trips

Sometimes you have to take a moment to remember some of the better moments you have had. Fortunately, Robert Field has filmed some of the better fishing moments/experiences in my life and has chronicled them on YouTube for all to enjoy.

I found myself watching video after video, series after series only to want more. Thank goodness we are heading to Louisiana next month to film the next Field Trips w/ Fish Village series because the itch is getting bad!

So if you haven\’t seen our shenanigan\’s with Robert Field or you want to watch some of the series again, click here.

10.04.20 5 weeks until we hit the road

This idea started months ago and to think that we are only five (5) weeks out is sort of bonkers. To say that we are operating with \”maximum effort\” is an understatement. The team is killing it, it is a sight to behold.

The details about the road trip are firming up… we are most definitely stopping by the Houston area for a bit to visit a couple of our new partners. Heath from Buggs Fishing is going to show us around his shop and how to use his lures. Wouldn\’t you know it… our boy Rex lives a few miles down the road from Heath – PERFECT!

Keep an eye out this week for a big giveaway announcement related to our Louisiana trip… you guys will dig it!

10.04.20 A handmade antler/brass death punch

Saturday morning started off very early, with ummmm some breakfast Pliny, a few shots fired from the Nerf gun and an extremely nice gesture from one of our Mad Angler friends Ryan Plummer. He stopped rigging for a second to hand my brother and I something special.

A handmade antler death punch with some spent brass embedded in it to finish it off. How f\’n cool is this? Isn\’t it spectacular?

Gifts like this mean a lot to me. As we say in California… \”STOKED!\” Now to find some big ol\’ unsuspecting tuna.

10.01.20 Fish Village merch is on the way!

We are thrilled to tell you that Fish Village merch is coming within the next 30-40 days. Shirts, sweatshirts, hats and stickers for starters.

We knew we couldn\’t do this alone, so we called in reinforcements. Rex DeGuzman of ActionHat and FishFrsh is stepping up to the plate to help Fish Village build our brand. His expertise will help us create a variety of apparel offerings and take our brand to the next level.

To all of you that have been asking for shirts, hats, stickers… we thank you kindly for the support. Keep an eye out for a sneak peak at Fish Village merch coming soon.
